Do you have an itch to play fingerstyle guitar, or feel like you’re stuck in a fingerstyle rut? Here’s your chance for some freewheelin’ fingerstyle fun! We’ll learn fundamental techniques that’ll open the door to playing hundreds of songs in folk, blues, and pop genres. And we’ll use our newly acquired fingerstyle skills to experiment with rhythm, tempo, and time, to appreciate how that affects groove and feel. All you need is an ability to move easily between common first position chords. Handouts provided.

Barry Truter teaches guitar and ukulele. He’s a co-founder of the Georgia Strait Guitar Workshop (GSGW). and has been on the faculty of GSGW, MMS, Rossland Acoustic Music Camp, Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, and Vancouver Island Music Workshop. He performs solo, and with folk trio Fraser Union, blues duo Jook Joint Jokers, and English country dance band Whimsical.
