Friday I Feel Good Jam

The focus of this course is classic rock, R & B, and blues repertoire played on instruments and accompanied by vocals, with an emphasis on song arrangements. Each song will have multi-level parts, from easier to advanced, including charts for guitar with lyrics supplied for singing along. There will be room for soloing.
Learn repertoire and get tips on jamming, musicianship and arranging. Song sheets, charts, and mp3s will be provided by email.
Although this class will focus mostly on guitar, all instruments, at all levels, are welcome. Amplified instruments played at an acoustic level are welcome.
Special Note: If any players in this class are attending the Georgia Strait Guitar Workshop Spring Jam, the March 1st class will be moved to March 22nd.

Rueben Gurr taught guitar, theory, arranging, and recording at Capilano University for nearly thirty years in the Bachelor of Music Therapy program. He has led many bands, playing jazz, rock, swing and R & B, etc. and has written several textbooks on guitar and improvising. He is on the faculty of the BC Swing Camp, the Georgia Straight Guitar Workshop, the Vancouver Island Music Workshop, and owns and operates a recording and production studio as well as “ HomeCooking “, a consulting business that focuses on helping beginners set up home recording studios.
