Techniques for Playing Fingerstyle Ballads

Instructor: Dave Dunnigan

Date: Thursdays, February 13 - March 19

Time: 7:30 pm

Price: $125, early bird discount is available*

This course is designed for those guitarists who want to enhance their fingerstyle ballad playing. We will explore some of the common and most utilized fingerstyle patterns and learn how to choose the right ones for the song (or when to ‘mix and match’ as appropriate). We will also cover some intros and embellishments to make the arrangements more interesting. Of course, we will do all this while learning some great ballads that you can add to your playing and singing repertoire.

The course is suitable for guitarists who know their common first position guitar chords. An ability to play barre chords is useful but not essential.

* Save $10 if you send in your cheque before Wednesday, January 29

Instructor Bio

Dave Dunnigan is a public school teacher who has been playing and teaching guitar and ukulele to both children and adults for too many years to mention (think decades!). When not teaching others, he can be found performing with the acoustic trio House Wine, riding his road and mountain bikes around the Lower Mainland, cooking for family and friends, or taking long walks with his wife Kim and dog Kira.
